邁阿密熱火隊日前正式揭幕韋德(Dwyane Wade)雕像，和本尊差異甚大的外貌，瞬間在網路上引發排山倒海的負評，各種惡搞哏圖也蜂擁而出，不少球迷認為這似乎更像是熱火隊史另一個球員華克(Antoine Walker)。

韋德不久前受訪時被問及是否有看到網路上對自己雕像的評價，他說道：「當然，我有iPhone…社群媒體總是充滿各種意見…流傳一些迷因什麼的，我們不在乎，對我和家人來說，昨天是很特別的時刻…雕像不用像我，那是藝術版本的我。」
“Yeah, I have an iPhone... Social media world is about opinions… Send some memes. We don’t care. It was a special moment yesterday; my family and I… It is a complicated process... It don’t need to look like me. It’s an artistic version of me.”

事實上，昨天不是韋德第一次看到自己的雕像外貌，在雕像製作過程中，韋德曾多次參與其中並提供相關意見，他也對於自己能和布萊恩(Kobe Bryant)雕像出自同間公司感到與有榮焉。

負責設計製作韋德雕像的雕塑家阿姆拉尼(Omri Amrany)在受訪時相當有自信地表示，這是他能做出的最棒成品，他也不認為有任何人能做出比這更好的作品，對於很多人宣稱韋德本人在揭幕時說出「這是哪位」的嘲諷，阿姆拉尼也表示那完全是斷章取義，韋德在致詞時想表達的意思應該是他何德何能，竟然能擁有一座屬於自己的雕像。
